Adrienne Lyle Teaching Canter Haunches In
Haunches In in the canter is a great exercise for helping to develop connection and collection in the dressage horse. This can be used on a lower level horse that is just beginning to develop collection or it can be used on an upper level horse to increase and develop the hind end strength and connection. This is a great tool for all riders to keep in their back pocket because it is so versatile.
In this video Adrienne Lyle teaches a young rider how to maintain both the collection AND connection on what is a bit of a tight backed horse. Using this exercise to develop the throughness of the horse results in a much more uphill and balanced canter.
This video was filmed at the Robert Dover Horsemastership Program in Wellington Florida at the Global Dressage Festival.
