Top Contenders For Tokyo

Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu and All In are Canada’s top contenders for Tokyo in 2021. Will All In stay sound enough to make it?

Canadian dressage riders have had a challenging year trying to make the team. With lockdown and travel restrictions, some riders opted to limit travel while others headed to Wellington for business as usual.

At the beginning of the season, we saw Degas 12 compete completely lame. Degas 12 was another top contender for the Canadian dressage team.  Jill Irving spent the rest of the season trying to resurrect him.

All In Is All Out

All In has been a hot topic here on Dressage Hub more than once. The All In is All Out series of videos has highlighted a lot of the training that is happening behind the scenes.

Today we are taking a different look at All In. In this video, we will take a look at All In through several years of development in the Grand Prix. We will also take a look at where All In is today. This season his performance has gone downhill. With 130 starts and a lot of miles, his time to shine would have been in 2020.

All In Is All Done

He started off 2021 strong, then mid-season we saw him scratched ‘due to allergies’ and he has not been as strong since. In the video we chose to look at the piaffe, however, there are several movements where you can see the rapid decline of All In’s soundness. The horse that never misses a line of flying changes now misses at least one line every single Grand Prix. The horse that once had a vibrant presence in the show ring is now merely obedient and going through the motions.

All In is no longer All Out, he is All Done. Only one question remains, will Canada send a lame horse to the Olympics?
